I spent the summer of 2001 in France, Italy and Spain. I had a cheap point-and-shoot camera, but as I often did when traveling, I preferred to make quick sketches in my notebook throughout the day. Then, in the evenings, over a glass of wine in a cafe, I'd fill in the details, adding color and form to the day's rough line drawings.
